Quality management and patient safety


RiverCity Private Hospital is certified to ISO 9001 Quality Management standards and the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) standards. Certification is an important driver for safety and continuous quality improvement. Through certification, RiverCity Private Hospital is able to assess levels of performance in relation to established national and international standards, and to implement processes that facilitate continuous improvement.

A clinical governance framework has been established to minimise risk to customers and continually monitor and improve the quality of the services delivered. This is achieved by:

  • Consumer participation;
  • Reviewing clinical effectiveness;
  • Measuring the effectiveness of our workforce;
  • Identifying and managing risk;

RiverCity Private Hospital is dedicated to providing the highest level of patient care by meeting the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards. This is achieved by establishing policies and procedures, providing staff education and training, and conducting internal audits to identify opportunities for improvement in the following areas:

Patient privacy

RiverCity Private Hospital has developed a Patient Privacy Policy to outline how we comply with confidentiality and privacy obligations when managing personal information. RiverCity Private Hospital is a registered healthcare provider and is required by law to comply with the Federal Privacy Act 1988. The Act incorporates the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), as well as relevant state Acts relating to the handling and management of health records.

Patient rights
